Swamp to Sea Honeybees Team

Meet The Team

  • Beekeeper

Patrick started his career in the culinary world but quickly decided that working in a kitchen wasn’t for him. Preferring to spend his days outdoors, Patrick began working on an organic farm on John’s Island where he stumbled upon the art of beekeeping. After leaving the farm and exploring other avenues of the food industry, he ultimately realized that nothing is as fulfilling as working with nature. He now dedicates his time to supporting his favorite pollinators and educating the community about their importance to our environment.

  • Emily and Neal have made their careers in the medical field but relish their time outdoors and are passionate about teaching their three children how to love and care for the planet. It seemed only natural to partner with Patrick, Neal’s brother, to form a company that fosters this passion. Emily is a beekeeper in training and hoping one day to get her three children in bee suits as well!

Our Story

Swamp to Sea Honeybees came to “bee” during a Shelley family vacation in 2021. While basking in the sun with a beer in hand, Emily, Neal, and Patrick decided to embark on a sweet new adventure that combines love of the honeybee, the environment, and the outdoors.  What better way to educate our community about the importance of the honeybees than by putting them in your own backyard.

From the swamps of Conway, South Carolina where we grew up to the seas of Charleston where we’ve lived for over twenty years, we specialize in honey, beekeeping consulting, and in installing hives at our client’s homes or property and provide comprehensive hive management services for a monthly rate. We take great care of the hives, ensuring the well-being of the bees and the quality of the honey they produce. Not only do we manage the hives with the utmost care, but we also lovingly harvest and jar the honey your little winged tenants produce for you.
